A female leopard cub that was traced in the fields of a doctor at Ajekar
has been safely released in the forest and united with its mother by the forest officials. In
fact two cubs, a male and female had been traced in the doctor’s field about a month ago.
However, by the time they were noticed, the male cub had died of starvation and fatigue.
The surviving cub was handed over to the forest authorities.

In a kind gesture, residents of Ankola recently joined hands to cremate
a monkey which died in a road accident. The monkey was over by a speeding bus in
front of the Corporation Bank. The locals including the autorickshaw drivers who park
their vehicles nearby decided to cremate the monkey is per rituals. They offered floral
tributes to the monkey and brought it to the forest department office grounds

In a bizarre case reported from Kasargod, a young bride landed at her
lover’s place the very next day of her marriage with a boy chosen by her parents.
