Abandoned leopard cub let in forest

A female leopard cub that was traced in the fields of a doctor at Ajekar

has been safely released in the forest and united with its mother by the forest officials. In

fact two cubs, a male and female had been traced in the doctor’s field about a month ago.

However, by the time they were noticed, the male cub had died of starvation and fatigue.

The surviving cub was handed over to the forest authorities.

Public join hands to cremate accident victim monkey

In a kind gesture, residents of Ankola recently joined hands to cremate

a monkey which died in a road accident. The monkey was over by a speeding bus in

front of the Corporation Bank. The locals including the autorickshaw drivers who park

their vehicles nearby decided to cremate the monkey is per rituals. They offered floral

tributes to the monkey and brought it to the forest department office grounds

Bride escapes to lover’s house very next day of marriage !

In a bizarre case reported from Kasargod, a young bride landed at her

lover’s place the very next day of her marriage with a boy chosen by her parents.

The girl who was working in a medical store in the town was given in marriage to a youth

of Padanna Hosadurga on January 30. The marriage had also been held grandly and the

bride’s behaviour was normal.

Panel threatens Barakolu movement against ‘Nagarjuna agent’ VSA

UDUPI : Vijaykumar Hegde, President of the Anti-Nagarjuna Action Committee and the

District President of the Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha has said that a Barakolu ( a stick

used to cane the bullocks and ox) movement would be held in front of the residence of

District minister VS Acharya on November 30 if the minister failed to give satisfactory

reply to the several doubts regarding the UPCL project by November 25.

Huge python resting in hen nest trapped

A huge python which was resting in peace after engulfing two hens in the hen
nest at Shokanamakki in Hosaheravatta of Kumta taluk, has been trapped by villagers
and handed over to the forest department.
