In a shocking revelation, it has been reported that several children in Panaje village
on the borders of Karnataka and Kerala are losing their eye sight due to the deadly effect of
the pesticide Endosulfan. Revealing this, Aboobakker Arlapadavu, President of the Gadinada
Shreyobhivridhi Trust and a social worker, said the deadly pesticide has caused much damage
in Panaje, Arlapadavu, Kondalyana and Bharanya area and added the aerial spray of the
pesticide by the Kerala plantation Corporation in Kasargod, had affected Panaje, which is a
border area.
